Disneyland Summer Vacation 2011!!

Summer is here and so you know what that means…Summer Vacation Baby!!! 😀

We purchased annual passes to Disneyland in December, and can you believe we haven’t used them since??? Crazy I know!!!

We were intending to go in March but with my foot still being injured we postponed. Then April came and Eli’s baptism kept us busy and my foot was still not healed. Then I finally just said we’ll go in June not matter what! 🙂

We set our dates for Sunday the 5th– Wednesday the 8th and then at the last minute, literally, we booked an extra night (Saturday) at the 1st hotel, cuz why not right!?! The first 2 nights we stayed at the Days Inn on Harbor Blvd. and the next 2 nights at the Grand Californian Hotel. Talk about night and day accommodations..but more on that later….

The Days Inn was decent. It was about what you expect for a budget hotel. The biggest perks were it had a fridge and microwave so we were able to pack and heat up our food for the 1st 2 days which really helped with keeping costs down. 🙂

We always bring an air mattress with us, since we are a family of 5, so no one has to sleep on the floor or try to squeeze 3 people into one little bed. It works out well.

The other perk was the pool. It was a nice size and when they say heated pool they actually meant it. I’m a baby and I freeze really easy and I almost never can get in the pool cuz it’s always too cold!! Brrrr…But not this time! It was a real treat not to be banned to the jacuzzi! 😛

Alayna is getting to be a good little swimmer but we still keep her in her life vest so she can be free. One draw back…the strap pushes her suit up her booty and gives her a MAJOR wedgie!!! Hahahaha!!!! Good thing she has such a cute tooshie! 😛

These kids were living it up!

Yes I “am” sitting on a chair in the pool..LOL! Jared threw this in for me to sit on so I didn’t have to stand on my foot! He’s a thinker that man of mine! 😀 However, not a great face I’m making..lol!

After we went swimming we dried off and got dressed and headed to Downtown Disney for an hour or so to check out the shops. This trip we decided to do all the things we never get to do or forget to do, and so we started there. At night they have a lot of live entertainment and the atmosphere is pretty cool. They have tons of stores to fill your suit cases with whatever your little heart desires! 🙂

They have an enormous Lego store and they built a life size Darth Vader. It was pretty neat!

When we got back to the hotel it was pretty late and we were all exhausted from the car drive. We changed into our PJ’s and we heard booming outside. We opened the curtains and we could see the fireworks from Disneyland! The kids thought it was totally awesome that we could watch them from our room!! 🙂 When the show was over we called it a day and hit the sack!
