WHAT !?!

News update…..As most of you know I’ve been serving in my ward’s Primary Presidency as the Secretary for the past 6-7 years..That’s right…you heard me…crazy huh?! I’ve served with 3 different Presidents. I was beginning to think I’d be in Primary forever!!

But, Last week I got the long awaited call to come in to see a member of the Bishopric and yes, you guessed it, I was released. It’s a bittersweet feeling. I was very comfortable in my calling. I knew all the in’s and out’s of it. I loved the ladies I was serving with, and it was a calling that I could handle while juggling the rest of my life..you know what I mean..

I was OK with saying good-bye to that calling though. I’d been the Secretary for so long and I was beginning to feel they needed some new fresh blood in there. Our entire Presidency was released. But my feelings of bliss of finally not having responsibilities only lasted a grand total of 2 days!

Before we left for Texas to go to Jared’s family reunion I got another call for another meeting. Wanna guess what my new calling is????? Come on guess….

Relief Society 2nd Counselor!!!! What?!? Are you kidding me????? Let me just remind you how I have zero experience in R.S. I haven’t step foot in there for YEARS!!!! I keep thinking there must be some mistake here..but no one seems to be entertaining me in that thought. So …. no rest for the weary and Sunday we all get set apart and dive right in!

Just in case you were wondering who the new Presidency is.

President: Lana Wright
1st Counselor: Dawn Christiansen
2nd Counselor: (Me) Vanessa Kitch
Secretary: Lynn Merrill

Wish me luck and PLEASE say a little prayer for me!!

That is a long time to be in any calling. I am also the 2nd counselor in RS and it can be a little overwhelming at times but overall I have loved it. You will be great running the enrichment program and I'm sure you will be a great asset to your sisters.
