Christmas Day & New Year’s Eve
Christmas Day started late. Our kiddos are a teen and a young single adult now, and the rush and excitement to open gifts at the crack of dawn have waned over the years. 😆 ha!
I delivered my famous cinnamon swirl bread to family and friends and the kids (reluctantly) posed by Santa as they have every single year since the guy joined the family all those years ago. Gifts were exchanged and we had a nice and relaxing day watching movies, hanging out, enjoying our new gifts, and chatting with Eli & Brynne over video.
Later in the day we went over to Mamaw and Pama’s for finger foods and a white elephant exchange. They gave each of the adults a really pretty cutting/charcuterie board with our last names engraved on them. And if you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE charcuterie boards! Yum!!!
We ended the evening with the final reading and lighting of the Advent from Pampa. There was a beautiful feeling in the room as we listened to the end of the Christmas story of our Savior and Redeemer.
Fast forward to New Year’s Eve Eve we picked up the kids from the airport. The next day we celebrated Christmas with them (on New Year’s Eve). It was good to have all my kiddos all under the same roof again.
They opened their gifts and we opened ours they brought us from their travels.
We got them an ornament with a picture of Ireland.
It says, “Eli & Brynne – Engaged December 2023”.
(A close up example below).
And we wrote Brynne a mushy card about how excited we are to have her officially join our family. They loved it! 🥰 Our family is growing and we are elated!
In the afternoon, we had our traditional Christmas meal and invited Mamaw and Pampa over to join us. Everyone was so excited to have the big Christmas fare! We stuffed ourselves and then Eli and Brynne shared all the pictures they took with us.
It was a perfect day!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
