Happy Birthday to Me!

Here I am, another year older. Welcome number 48!

Boy that number is really starting to creep close to 50!! Haha!

But I’m happy to have another year of growing, learning, and life experiences. I watched my son become a husband and gained another daughter. I lost 2 of my Aunts to cancer. We welcomed a new grand-pup, Arden, to the family. Watched a lot of volleyball. Dusted off my photography skills. Had a surprise visit from my best friend, AnnMarie. Purchased a new-to-us car. Dealt with a couple of health concerns and battled a LOT of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and PTSD. Started back in to counseling. I continue to work on my faith and understand God. I’ve been in His word every day and learning who He is and His character. I’ve also started meditating which has been a game changer for me! Walker and Eli moved out of the house and I became a little closer to being an empty nester. And have had the chance to reconnect and grow a little closer to Jared now that we have more time to focus on the two of us. I also got to witness Alayna receive her Patriarchal Blessing on my Birthday. It’s been a full year!

I’m also realizing I don’t have many pictures of myself. So this one at Christmas with my handsome oldest son will have to do. 🙂

We celebrated with dinner at Red Robin with the family and Eli and Brynne wrote me the sweetest notes with some delicious banana bread. So thoughtful of them!

To add context to Eli’s message, he’s most likely going to get his commission and orders and will be moving out to state by the end of the year. I’m going to miss him and Brynne. But I’m going to just enjoy our time together while they’re still here.

Here’s to another year!

Praying that the Lord will watch over my children, provide for our needs; spiritually and temporally, hold us when we feel life is too heavy, and bless us with His grace and mercy as we walk (clumsily) through this uncharted territory called life.
