The Melchizedek Priesthood

Eli received the Melchizedek priesthood and ordained an Elder today! 💙

Eli has been working towards receiving the priesthood for several months. He received his patriarchal blessing in March and has been looking forward to this day.

It’s been such a beautiful thing to witness Eli choose to follow our Savior. He’s done this on his own terms, and his own timeline. He’s not followed the typical path. He has been prayerful and purposeful. He wanted to find out for himself if this was right for him and not just do things because it was the “next step”. He didn’t take this lightly and I admire him for being so thoughtful and really considering what this means for his life now and in the eternities.

He invited the whole family to his (Walker & Brynne’s) Ward. He attends Mesa YSA Ward.

It happened to be fast and testimony meeting and it was such a wonderful experience hearing these young men and women be so open and honest about their faith. Going to the same family ward for 22 years it opened my heart and eyes to all the good these young people are doing. They are good people doing good in the world and striving to live their lives close to their Savior. It just filled my heart! It was such a good service. It bolstered my own testimony and faith.

After church, we all met with Eli’s Bishopric. Jared ordained Eli to the Melchizedek Priesthood and Walker stood in the circle. Seeing all three of my men in this moment is something I can’t fully put into words. Having three priesthood holders in my home is an incredible blessing and gift! Growing up I didn’t have the priesthood in my home. And now I have three worthy men who do! It’s incredible to me! I will always hold this day close to my heart and it will live in my mind forever.

Congratulations Eli! Your Heavenly Father and Savior are so proud of you and the choices you are making in your life. It brings them so much joy and happiness!
