Las Vegas- Red Rock Rave
The three of us hit the road for Vegas for Alayna’s volleyball tournament. This was the first time I got to travel with them for one of her national competitions. I was really excited I got to go!! <3
We packed up the RAV4 with every available square inch of space! Feeding 12 athletic and hungry girls for a weekend is no small feat! 😛 We also had a large luggage box on top of the car filled to the brim.
Before we headed out of town we stopped for some lunch and hit the road. We’ve had so much rain this winter that the desert is having a super-bloom and it looks so colorful and pretty! The pics don’t do it justice.
Jared is the team chaperone so I got to be co-chaperone with him this time. 🙂 If you want to get to know the team better sign up to be the chaperone. It’s a lot of work but it’s rewarding. Work hard, play hard!
We stayed at the Luxor Hotel which was a first for all of us.
The picture above was our view out of our room. That’s the Excalibur Hotel.
We unloaded everything from the car which was HARD work! They hotel wouldn’t let us borrow a luggage cart and water is NOT light…especially when you have to carry it for a half mile making multiple trips. It was kind of comical. We survived though. Lol!
After that we got met the girls as they trickled into the lobby to check them in and hand them their room keys and give them instructions. We made sure they all got to bed on time because they had to be at the convention center early the next morning to play.
Saturday we were up and ready to get down to business!
After their games for the day we had some time in the afternoon to have a little fun. We took the team to the New York-New York Hotel to ride the Big Apple roller coaster.
That coaster was INSANE!!! It was so fast and fun!! I got a little nervous at first (which I never do on coasters. I love them.) But this one had me shaking in my boots a little. It was a blast!! The girls had a great time!
Sunday it was back to work on the court. They fought hard.
And again, we had a little free time afterwards to check out the Bellagio and do a little sight seeing. We saw The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens there. It smelled WONDERFUL!!!!
This is their Spring installment. They change it every season. It’s called “Garden of Love” and we saw a bride and groom taking pictures in there. So fun!
And of course we had to see the famous fountains there as well!
We had fun sight seeing and hanging out. It was a treat for me to be there and support Alayna and the team.
We had dinner at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez at the New York- New York Hotel. We do not recommend them. The food, service, and closing out the bill was a bit of a fiasco. It took over an hour to get out of there after everyone was finished.
The last day wrapped up quick and we were able to hit the road around lunch time.
It was a full weekend of volleyball and team and family bonding!! I’m so glad I got to be there and be apart of it!
