Just the Two of Us
Jared and I don’t get time just the two of us very often. But sometimes it’s just what is needed. So Saturday I got to spend the day with my sweetie. 💛
The weather has been gorgeous and we wanted to get out and soak it up while we can. We started the day with some yummy breakfast at The Broken Yolk. Then we went peach picking at Schnepf Farms 🍑 & toured Queen Creek Olive Mill. 🌿
I reached my hand up in the tree and was surprised to see this beehive!!! Thankfully they had moved on and I wasn’t in any danger. LOL!
My Grandma Donher had orchards. I couldn’t help but think of her while we were out picking peaches. She always had canned fruit in glass jars in her pantry. I loved looking at them. They were so beautiful to me. She had peaches, apricots, plums and I’m sure more…I just can’t remember them all. 🙂
We got our bounty and we headed over to the Olive Mill. We’ve been wanting to go there for years and just never have. It’s pretty much across the street from Schnepf Farm so it’s not like it’s an extra trip. We seized the day and made our way over (after making a detour down a blocked off road and the construction workers gave us all sorts of funny looks and yelled at us, where the heck are going? hahaha!!! It just added to the adventure for the day! 😛 ) But we made it!
We did the Olive Oil 101 Class and we learned SO much! We shopped in their small but packed full to the brim store and we ate gelato. Jared got blood orange which was REALLY good and raspberry. And I got rocky road. Mmmm!
We worked up an appetite and decided dinner was in order too and got pizza, an antipasto board, and 3 types of bruschetta. Everything was delicious!!!
Sometimes you just have to take time for the two of you. Recharge and reconnect. It was just what we needed and in every way it was a perfect day! 💕 I just want to keep all that goodness and happiness in my heart!
