Golden Scholars & National Recognition Award
Junior year is academically rigorous! It’s the big year to make sure your GPA is outstanding for college applications. You need to prepare and take the SAT’s, ACT’s, and everything that goes along with it. Add to that any extracurricular activities, work, and if there’s time, you might have a social life too. LOL! It can feel overwhelming!
Alayna has been juggling it all with so much grace. Of course there have some nights with tears but truly she is amazing! She continually inspires me!
She balances everything and still achieves her academic goals and was recognized again this year for Golden Scholars.
Sadly, she’s out of town for a volleyball tournament in Philadelphia the day of the ceremony but we’ll update this later with her certificate when she picks it up from school.
She was also was recognized and invited to apply to the National Recognition Program!!! There is no cut off of award winners so this is a guaranteed award.
She will be awarded these scholarships for having a 3.3 GPA or higher. (She currently has a 4.8 GPA.) Scoring in the top 10% on the PSAT. And because CVHS is a high school in a rural area.
The in-state offers are pretty good! ASU offers the New American University Scholarship at $16k/yr. UofA offers a National Scholar at $18k/yr. And NAU offers the National Recognition Scholar at 100% tuition covered PLUS $1k stipend for the first 2 years!
Pretty amazing !!!
Way to go, Alayna!!! We are so very proud of you!!!
