Aunt Lizzie

In August of 2023 my mom’s youngest sister and sibling, Lizzie, was diagnosed with cancer. It started with some back pain, then lung pain. She couldn’t manage a full breath without having spasms. She was also getting disoriented so her granddaughter took he to the ER. The doctors suspected cancer and they did some scans and biopsies. They found she had 3 masses on the brain as well as the top, center, and lower spine. Her right ribs also had it in the bone.

They started radiation on the brain right away at the beginning of September.

Heartbreaking doesn’t even begin to express how devastating this diagnosis was. She had just unexpectedly lost her oldest daughter, Jessica, in January.

Aunt Lizzie was a fighter. She had a strong spirit and showed us all what it means to overcome adversity in life. She will be deeply missed by everyone she knew.

I’m sure Grandma Donher and her daughter Jessica welcomed her home with wide open arms and big warm hugs!
