Alayna’s 1st Homecoming Dance
Alayna got a group of friends together and planned a fun Homecoming night for everyone. She’s really becoming quite the social butterfly! ❤️
Brynne came over beforehand and helped do her hair. Brynne is very talented! Grateful she is willing to share those skills with us!
Lyndon, Alayna and Sophia have been friends since junior high. Lyndon is a quiet but really sweet guy. Alayna and him went as a friend-couple with the rest of the friend group.
They looked so amazing!!! Beautiful couple!!!
They let me take a few pics at the house before they went over to the Silos in Gilbert to get some group pics. Eli just got an amazing new camera and he was so nice to break it in by taking their photos. (My camera is sadly so old now, most cell phones take higher resolution images!)
It was pretty bright out there at the Silos! Ha!!
I think the pictures turned out great for his first experiment! 🙂
After pictures the group all went to dinner at Macayo’s. Alayna’s favorite restaurant!
They had just finished up dinner when Lyndon began not acting like his usual self. He has epilepsy and it has been under control with medication. We’re not sure if he forgot to take his meds or if the stress of the day caught up to him or a combination of both, but he had a seizure.
There were so many tender mercies that evening. The first being that they were still at the the restaurant when it happened and not in the car on the way to the dance.
The second being, Allie (in the orange dress) knew exactly what to do (her mom is a nurse or a doctor) and instructed Alayna to get him to the floor, on his side and make sure his head was protected.
And third, a mom from a nearby table got the staff to get the paramedics on their way. Alayna did the best she could to make sure Lyndon didn’t injure himself in the meantime.
His parents were called and his dad got there before we did. And the paramedics were just finishing up checking him over just as we arrived, and said he was ok, and advised him to take it easy the rest of the evening.
I know he was embarrassed and heartbroken that the evening ended how it did. But we are just so THANKFUL he’s ok and everyone acted so quickly and was so helpful!
Afterwards Lyndon went home to recuperate and Alayna and Sophia came back with us to the house to watch movies and decompress. It was quite a traumatic experience for her to see one of her best friends have a seizure. As an adult it’s scary but as a 15 year old who has never seen anything like that before it’s multiplied. But I couldn’t be more proud of her for doing everything she could for her friend. She took great care of him and she handled it was incredible maturity and bravery!!
The rest of the girls went on to the dance and had a great time.
We wanted to do a little something for him to let him know we were thinking of him so we made him some treats and Alayna took them to him.
One thing is for sure…this is an evening no one will forget! ❤️
