Accepted to ASU!
Alayna got her acceptance letter and scholarship offer to ASU!
She’s an excellent student and she’s been awarded the New American University Scholarship.

The scholarship givers her $9,000 per year. Which is awesome!

She’s still in the middle of deciding what path she wants to take for college. She’s been offered a spot at CGCC to play volleyball and she’ll be able to attend there for free with the Honors Presidents’ Scholarship since she has an excellent GPA of 4.4884 weighted and a 4.0 unweighted. The requirement is a 3.25 unweighted high school GPA. She definitely exceeds that! 🙂
Walker went to CGCC first with the Honors Presidents’ Scholarship and transferred his last 2 years and finished at ASU.
Eli went straight to ASU with the New American University Scholarship (and his AFROTC Scholarship) and he’ll be graduating in May.
We did the math and it comes out almost the same by going to CGCC 1st and transferring compared to going straight to ASU when you factor both scholarships. Especially when you consider paying for parking at ASU adds about $1k/yr and all the gas/wear-and-tear on your car. And her school is actually at the Downtown Campus not Tempe. The commute is further.
She’s keeping her options open right now. But she will need to make a decisions very soon!
Congrats on being accepted at ASU, Laney!
Update: She just got another $1k added to her scholarship offer totaling $10k/year!
