Happy 70th Birthday, Aunt Mona!

Celebrated my beautiful Aunt Mona for her 70th Birthday today! 💐💖

Her actual birthday isn’t until July but she wanted to celebrate with her family and friends now. 😉

She has a heart of gold and no one is a stranger to her. She is one of those warm loving souls who make everyone feel seen, loved and welcome. She is such an amazing woman. She is charming and charismatic and funny. I know you aren’t supposed to have a favorite, but she’s always been my favorite Aunt.

To say she’s a fighter is an understatement. In January 2021, she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in the front right lobe of her brain. She had emergency surgery to remove as much tumor as they could see. This kind of cancer is aggressive, is hard to remove every tiny fiber of it and usually comes back. She’s had multiple surgeries, rounds of radiation and chemo, and has been in many drug trials to fight this awful disease. It’s been a battle the last 2 years and everyone including the doctors are blown away with how well she’s doing.

As my Uncle Mike, said so beautifully today, “We’ve tried so many treatments that we can’t say which have worked. But we do know that your prayers have been heard.”🙏💙 Amen to that!!

We all love you so much Aunt Mona! 😘💕

At first she wanted to have a celebration of life but this was difficult for my Uncle Mike to agree to. Their daughter Monica came up with the idea to just have an early birthday party and that was something everyone could get on board with. 💖

They had it at the Encanterra Club House in San Tan Valley.

Below are pics from throughout the day. It was such a special gathering of all her family and friends. It’s a testament of who Aunt Mona is that so many people came to love on her and celebrate her. The room was packed!! I think everyone should have a party like this!!! It was such a wonderful idea!

What a treat it was to see so many of my cousins, aunts and uncles. We don’t get together as often as we used to. Life gets busy. Grateful to see those that could make it! It filled my heart up in every way!

Happy Birthday Aunt Mona!! You are loved beyond measure! Keep fighting the good fight! You are an inspiration to us all!
