I Got the Rona…
After a little over 2 years of dealing with the pandemic, it caught up with me.
I’ve been vaccinated, but was due for my booster in November, and never got it. I’m diligent about wiping shopping carts down and avoiding most situations where I would catch it but this new strain (Omicron) is highly contagious they say. (Pretty much everyone I know has caught this strain. Except my immediate family. I don’t know how that’s possible. LOL!)
I actually think I caught it from the crowds at the volleyball tournaments. But, we have to return to normal at some point.
I started having symptoms on Monday the 17th. It came on fast. I had LOTS of congestion, really high fevers that lasted for several days, nausea, muscle aches, chills, dizziness, and a terrible cough that lingered for weeks. I got tested Wednesday and my results came Thursday the 20th.
I was down bad!!
Thankfully I have wonderful family and friends who came to my aide! Rita brought over some amazing homemade chicken noodle soup. AnnMarie brought chili and corn bread one day and later in the weeks she brought a chicken dish. And Chris brought a tater tot casserole. They were LIFE SAVERS!!!
I’m doing much better now. I’m glad it’s behind me and I know that my immune system is stronger for it. Building trust in my body again is healing on many levels. <3
PS – Make sure you stock up on Mucinex before you come down with it. It was a huge help!
