Family Temple Day- August!
Since last month was a bust trying to go to the Mesa Temple we wanted to try again! 😛
The Mesa Temple is the oldest Temple in AZ. It was built in 1927. It was renovated and rededicated in 1975, and next year May 2018, it’s going to close for 2 years for repairs and upgrades.
My heart has a big soft spot for the Mesa Temple. I had lots of Pioneer Ancestors who helped build and work in those sacred walls! I always feel they are just a “little” bit closer to me when I attend that Temple. <3
The guys went and did baptisms while Alayna and I walked the huge and lush grounds.
You just don’t see so much green in one place in Arizona! <3
After we walked around a bit we headed into the Visitor’s Center. None of the other temples in AZ have a Visitor’s Center. It’ was such a treat!
I’ve always loved the Christus! I get emotional every time I see it. <3
They had several new movies we hadn’t seen and we stayed and watched the new Oliver Cowdry, David Whitmer movies and the Meet The Mormon: The Entertainers. They were all sooo good!!
We all had a nice time as a family. We stopped by Dairy Queen on the way home to get some cool and tasty treats!
