Mamaw is Coming to Town!

If it sounds a little like “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” it should…they are very similar in so many ways! 🙂

Jared and I have never really taken a vacation alone. We’ve always had the kids or someone with us. So, for our 13th Anniversary we decided to celebrate with just the two of us in New York! 😀

The kids don’t get to see Jared’s Mom very often so we thought this would be a perfect time to fly her out to stay with the kids while we flew across the country like ‘crazy kids’! 😛 Mamaw and the kid couldn’t have been MORE excited for this arrangement! 😀

got into town around 1pm. We had the family over for dinner and boy was it tasty!

For dessert I made this little beauty. It’s a Key Lime Poke Cake….MMMMMM!!!

After dinner we had a chance to visit, and by 9pm we had to leave for the airport on a red-eye to NYC!!

It was harder than I thought it was going to be to actually ‘leave’ the house. Walker really pulled at my heart strings. He kept telling me he was going to miss us with those puppy dog eyes and I could tell he was a little nervous too. Eli was OK with us leaving for the most part but wanted to hug us right out the door. 😛 Alayna basically said, “See ya later!!” Hahahaha!

Once we got in the car to leave I felt my heart pitter patter…but I was also excited to spend some one on one time with my Sweetie! 🙂 Our trip was filled with lots of excitement and I’m so glad that we finally made the jump and took the time for just the two of us.
